1. Getting Started

Polaris Study Coach connects you with students and parents who need academic help. Create your profile, list your subjects, and start receiving inquiries.

1. Sign up at the coach portal with email or Google.
2. Complete your profile (bio, rates, education, teaching style).
3. Add at least one subject.
4. Set your weekly availability.
5. Publish your profile to appear in search results.

2. Your Profile

Your profile is what students and parents see when they find you. Include:

• Headline — short tagline (e.g., "Experienced Math Coach · SAT Prep Expert")
• Bio — detailed description of your experience and teaching approach
• Rates — hourly rate range (min-max)
• Education — your academic background
• Teaching style — patient, interactive, structured, etc.
• Remote / In-Person — where you can coach
• Video Intro — YouTube/Vimeo link (optional but recommended)

Click Publish to make your profile visible in search. You can unpublish at any time.

3. Managing Subjects

List the subjects you teach. Each subject includes:

• Subject name (e.g., "Algebra II", "AP Physics", "SAT Math")
• Grade levels (elementary, middle, high, college)
• Description of what you cover

4. Setting Availability

Set your weekly schedule so students know when you're available. Add time slots for each day of the week.

5. Handling Inquiries

When a student or parent is interested, they send you an inquiry with their subject, message, and preferred times.

1. Review the inquiry in your Inquiries inbox.
2. Accept — sends a notification to the student. You can then schedule a session.
3. Decline — politely pass. You can include a reason.

6. Managing Sessions

After accepting an inquiry, create a session:

1. Set the date, time, and platform (Zoom, Google Meet, in-person).
2. Share a meeting link or location.
3. After the session, mark it as Completed.

Both you and the student can then rate each other.

7. Ratings & Reviews

After each completed session, both sides rate each other (1-5 stars + optional review). Your average rating is displayed on your profile. Higher ratings = more visibility in search.

8. Subscription Plans

• Free: 1 subject, 5 inquiries/month, basic profile
• Pro ($9.99/mo): Unlimited subjects & inquiries, featured search placement, analytics
• Premium ($19.99/mo): Everything in Pro + verified badge, priority matching, spotlight

You keep 100% of your coaching fees — plans only cover your listing.

9. Analytics (Pro+)

Pro and Premium coachs get access to analytics: profile views, inquiry conversion rate, top subjects by demand, and monthly trends.

10. FAQ

How do I get more students?

Complete your profile, add a video intro, respond quickly to inquiries, and build a high rating. Pro/Premium plans give featured placement.

Can I coach online and in-person?

Yes — check both "Remote" and "In-Person" on your profile.

How do payments work?

You handle payments directly with students (Venmo, Zelle, cash, etc.). We don't process coaching payments or take commission.
